At D’Royal Bride, we offer professional in-house alterations as an optional, additional service designed to tailor your bridal gown or formal dress to your exact fit and enhance your experience.

When It’s Time to Begin
Whether you ordered your gown or purchased it directly from our boutique, if you wish to use our in-house alterations service, we kindly ask that you call us to schedule your first fitting appointment.
Fittings are typically scheduled 1 to 2 months before the event date, allowing the ideal amount of time for a custom, secure fit. In special cases, appointments may be scheduled just a few weeks before the event.
Appointments are generally held on Tuesdays or Thursdays. If another day is needed, we may accommodate your request for an additional fee.
To ensure the best results, it’s important to be at or very close to your desired weight by the time of your first fitting. This allows our alterations team to achieve the most accurate and flattering fit possible, and helps avoid additional costs that may arise from extra work or adjustments if your size changes throughout the alteration process.
Remember, alterations are optional, and not every client requires this service.
What to Expect at Your First Fitting
During your first appointment, you’ll try on your gown or dress for the very first time since purchasing or ordering it. Because your piece is made according to standard measurements, it’s completely normal if it feels too big or doesn’t fit perfectly at first — that’s exactly what alterations are for.
Your fitter will carefully pin and shape the garment to your body, ensuring every line and seam enhances your silhouette. This appointment typically lasts about one hour, during which you’ll be standing in your gown and shoes as your fitter works.
Please Remember to Bring
Your event or wedding shoes (for accurate hemming).
The undergarments or shapewear you plan to wear on your special day.
If you do not bring shoes to your first fitting, you may either be rescheduled for a later appointment the same day (if available) or require an additional fitting appointment.
For your convenience, D’Royal Bride offers an extensive selection of bridal and evening shoes so you can find everything you need for your look in one place.
Multiple Appointments for the Perfect Fit
Most gowns and formal dresses require two to more fittings to achieve the desired fit.
Second Fitting
Your gown will be basted (sewn) based on the first fitting. It will fit more closely, and additional adjustments may be made.
Final Fitting
This is where everything comes together. Your fitter will review each detail to ensure the gown fits beautifully and moves gracefully with you.
Pick-Up & Final Touches
After your final fitting, if you selected our professional steaming service, your gown or dress will be prepared and packaged in a breathable, opaque garment bag, ready for your special day. A pick-up appointment will be scheduled to ensure everything is handled with care.
Pricing & Custom Work
Standard alterations for bridal gowns and formal dresses typically range from $150 to $700, with an average cost of around $500 for bridal dresses. More complex custom work can range from $800 to $1,000 or more, depending on the piece and requests.
